M.A. HISTORY

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:

  • Expansion of opportunities for learning to widen the knowledge of history.
  • Enabling the students to become expertise in their own subjects and to do research at an advance level.
  • Enhancing the ability to become qualitative and knowledgeable teachers.
  • Making use of the available of sources and mobilizing resources to enable the students to get through various levels of examinations recruited by UPSC, TNPSC, TRB etc.,
  • Developing the professional skills and talents of students to become knowledge leaders of future generation.
  • To empower the students to overcome their difficulties in the course of program of study.

PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOMES: 

  • Emphasize on the historical, political, socio-economic and cultural perspectives of events associated with local, regional, national and global level
  • To instill in minds of the students, the values of nationalism, patriotism, humanism and universal peace etc.,
  • Acquire practical skills in the field of Archaeology, Epigraphy etc., so as to become archaeologists and epigraphists
  • Develops the ability to be socially responsible citizens to lead and make the society as awareness one
  • Enable students to get through NET/SET exams and pursue teaching and research as their carrier option

PSO-1 Able to gain in depth knowledge on the history of ancient India, its socio economic life, tradition and cultural milieu.
